A Hodge-Podge of Life

Change is a comin'! I found out this past week that I will have a new adventure the next school year. They are currently building new buildings as a part of Heritage Halls where Deseret Towers (DT) used to be. There will be a men's building and a women's building ready in the fall. I will be the hall advisor in the women's building, as well as the hall advisor over Young Hall, which will be a women's hall as well. What does this mean? I will have about 300 girls to watch over next year! I am excited, but also a bit overwhelmed and nervous. I know that I can handle it, that I won't be alone, and that I will have 5 amazing RAs (whomever they may be...)Here is a little preview of what my new digs will look like (at least from the outside of the building, and what they say it will be)

I also got to see some very special people in my life today. As you know, my MTC elders are home. I had the opportunity to go to see Michael Jensen and Todd Nelson at their home wards, and hear them speak. It was an amazing time for me, a wonderful day that I feel very blessed to have had. I also got to see some of the other people from my mission, some who I hadn't seen since I have been home before today!

Bingham and I still think we look related. I think this picture helps prove our point.

I love when my friends and I get a little silly with a camera around.

Slumber Party

I had this weekend off, so my friend Nicole invited me over for a sleepover at her house. I was really excited, thinking back to slumber parties of my youth, and about all the random things we did, and the stories we told and the games we played. I knew we were watching a movie with some boys, then kicking them out, and there would be 4 girls. The movie was great...I love Clue! We then got the air mattress all filled up and then decided to pop in The 3 Musketeers. We watched for awhile, and then turned it off...why? Because we were tired and wanted to sleep!!! WHAT!??! What happened to our stamina of staying up all night? What happened to the kooky things we did? I don't know. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time and we did get up early the next morning to help clean the church, but I wonder...what happened? Can I not stay up anymore? Do I get wiped out? I guess the other question is...When in the world did I grow up this much!???! :)

They're coming HOME!!!

Let it be known, that today is a FANTASTIC DAY!!!! You want to know why??? MY ELDERS ARE COMING HOME!!!!!!!! That's right. They are flying right now. I am so grateful for them in my life. They have been such a blessing and a strength to me. We had our ups and downs, FOR SURE, but I wouldn't trade my relationship with them for ANYTHING.

(We look a bit different these days...2 years is a bit of time)
